Educators and Coaches, welcome to GameChange! GameChange was designed to serve as a resource for you to reinforce or supplement information that you are communicating or teaching to your student athletes. Our ultimate goal is to create a community of athletes that utilizes the power of sports into making the world a better place.
We did not create the classes, worksheets, content library, and livestream forums as a curriculum, but rather as a pool of resources that can help students with specific challenges they are tackling. As an example, each class has several episodes and there might be one specific episode within a class that the student might consider viewing.
GameChange provides coaches a comprehensive list of the courses so that they can easily review and suggest a short video for their team to watch at home to prep for a team talk the coach is planning on a certain subject (Examples: Losing Streak, Team Chemistry, Self Belief, Mental Health, etc.)
For coaches who prefer a PDF of the list of courses, please click here to download.
Several GameChange classes include worksheets with self-reflection writing prompts that are similar to those on college application essays. College counselors on campus can suggest the various class episodes with these prompts to help students consider how their life experiences match the prompt topic and practice writing their essays to it.
Mindset Mondays is a weekly email newsletter that includes a 60 second video and written word story featuring advice on how to optimize your mindset. It includes stories on everyone from student athletes to GOATs of various sports. All subscribers receive the email newsletter, providing coaches yet another option for a Team Talk.
GameChange is striving to be a company that empowers students to have a voice. Video production teachers can provide optional extra credit opportunities for students to create videos that might get selected for distribution on GameChange’s website and social media pages. GameChange cofounder Jack Baric, an Emmy Award winning filmmaker, created a Video storytelling 101 worksheet that teaches students how to create compelling videos. Students submitting videos that get selected are sent a letter for their resume, identifying them as a published GameChange content creator.
GameChange is developing a regular blog called “Friday Night Writes” about the experience of being a student athlete. English teachers can provide students with voluntary extra credit opportunities to write a story that might get selected for GameChange’s website and/or newsletter. GameChange created a writer’s storytelling worksheet that teaches students how to write compelling stories. Students submitting stories that get selected are sent a letter for their resume, identifying them as a published GameChange content creator.
